Erol Alkan is a celebrated DJ, producer, radio host, and label head, recognized as a unique force in electronic and alternative culture for over 30 years. He founded the legendary London club night TRASH (1997–2007), which transformed the scene by bridging disparate genres. He revived this communal philosophy with the residency 'To The Rhythm' (2017), known for exploring the far reaches of his collection in all-night sets. Alkan's production prowess spans two albums for Daft Punk, remixes for The Chemical Brothers, Hot Chip, and Justice, and working with Duran Duran and The Killers. He also runs his acclaimed label, Phantasy (founded 2007), and is one half of Beyond The Wizards Sleeve. Awarded Mixmag's Dj of 2006, he maintains a residency on NTS Radio and performs at major festivals worldwide.
Australian "rave-pop" group Confidence Man DJs is releasing their third album, 3AM (LA LA LA), a bolder release delving into UK rave sounds of the 90s and 2000s, encompassing trippy acid techno, trance, breakbeat, and big beat. Known for their arch confections and high-octane live shows (like Glastonbury 2022), the quartet—led by Janet Planet and Sugar Bones—call their genre "Bubblegum Warehouse." The album, written during intense late-night sessions in London, follows underground hits with Daniel Avery, DJ Seinfeld, and DJ Boring. 3AM (LA LA LA) features collaborations (like Sweetie Irie) and includes a remix by The KLF's Jimmy Cauty, confirming their role as chaotic disruptors of modern pop and dance music.
